Saturday Night Summer Club Racing Hours

As summer approaches and the Santa Clarita sun starts to scorch the tops of unprotected heads at the track, it is time to announce that yet again this year, we will be changing the start time of our Saturday club races from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, effective June 1st. This should cool things down in the pits, while the action on the track starts to heat up this year!

16th Annual Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout Flyer!

Summer will be here before you know it, and that means the annual Off-Road Shootout is fast approaching! This is the signature race of the season here at Hot Rod Hobbies and it draws racers from all over the country, and even international racing talent! A great part of the race weekend for newcomers to racing is the Pro/Am race, where rookie drivers are paired up with their own pro, to give them tips on setup and driving...and we've got a full complement of electric class offerings for you to choose from, this year.

New Club Racing Champions for Jan-Feb 2013

It's been cold out there, but our club racers have been keeping the competition heated, throughout our first club racing series of 2013! For the first time ever, we've had two separate off-road tracks to host the club racing, with Tuesday and Saturday on "Track 1" while Fridays have enjoyed the new dirt and fresh layout of our new "Track 2." As the weather starts to warm up heading into spring, we hope to see a lot more racers coming back to the action and enjoying some quality off-road racing on our two awesome tracks!

Tuesday and Friday start times changed

Hot Rod Hobbies will once again be adjusting the start times of our Tuesday and Friday night club programs. As of March 1st, our new start time for both nights will be 6:30pm. We had changed the start back to the original time of 7:00pm, in order to accommodate racers who were unable to make it to the track for a 6:00pm start; however upon doing so, we heard others tell us that this later start resulted in finish times that were too late for them to continue.

Therefore, as a compromise, we have decided to "split the difference" and institute a 6:30pm start time for Tuesday and Friday nights, in hopes that this will accommodate most peoples' schedules and allow more racers to attend. We apologize for the re-shuffling of start times over the past several months, but our goal is to please as many racers as possible and by adjusting these times, we hope to prove our commitment to our loyal racers. We hope to see you on one of our two excellent off-road tracks here at the World Famous Hot Rod Hobbies, in the very near future!

Timing system updated to MyLaps RC4

Just a technical update for our racers: Hot Rod Hobbies has updated its scoring system by installing the MyLaps RC4 firmware into our transponder decoder box. What this means is that the brand new RC4 transponders will be accepted, along with all previous models of MyLaps/AMB personal transponders. The bad news is that the MRT transponders are not compatible with the new decoder box, thus they will not be usable for future racing at Hot Rod Hobbies. We always have our "house" transponders that can be used by those without a personal one, so nobody will be unable to race. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but we want to keep pace with the latest technology available for timing and scoring, here at Hot Rod Hobbies!
